"Help the Needy" Fundraiser
December 22, 2010Wow... "Help the Needy" fundraiser finally happened. We were working for
almost two weeks to make this event a better one.
We find a kid shoe polisher in the streets of
Kabul, then we asked him why he is working? the answer was "I am working
to support and help my sister go to school. his name is Naweed. he is just 11
years old, after his first grade he quit school in order to support his family
and help his sister go to school. This is a brothers devotion towards his
sisters. His family is composed of 8 people, his father’s work in a shop
in Kabul. He hardly manages to support his family. They live at a two room
house at the top of Dehmazang Mountains. Naweed and his siblings do not have
warm clothes in this cold winter, and they have no firewood.
So we started to raise some money for this
family, there for we made a fundraising party, then we invited almost 50
people. We spend around 15000 Afs on this event. Before event we made a
documentary about Naweed's family. On the event day of event (12/21/2010) we
showed the documentary and we raised 50000 Afs. This amount of money will bring
huge different in Naweed's life.
Now by this money:
We can support Naweed's family financially.
Enroll Naweed to school.
Buy warm clothes for Naweed and his younger siblings.
Buy firewood for Naweed's family.
Special thanks to:
